Its a oddly color for that year, the back is different, looks like a tiny circle on reverse allowing the true color of the metal to be exposed, I have weighed it and its at 3.1 in grams,I can't find any info, matched it up with a bronze metal I had from my wrestling days and look identical, is there any other tests I can do,or are they common/rare for that year, any help identification on this would be very greatfull thanks.

The look of Bronze is natural coloring due to 43 years of circulation.

But if the composition included too much Zinc, 12% instead of 5%.. you could have that Bronze/Brassy look. This would be considered an Improper Alloy Mix

I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/improper-alloy-mix/

Quote - "Definition: The term “improper alloy mix” can apply to two related errors. The constituent metals of a solid-alloy coin can be well-mixed but in the wrong proportions. In the case of a copper-alloy cent with too much tin or zinc, this will result in a brassy color." closed quote
