What can you tell me about this 1989 Roosevelt Dime? The back of it caught my eye when I got it today. Is it worth anything other than face value?

    welcome, and I see nothing.

You should point out what you think you see, or at least describe it so we can all look in the same place.

like He's probably talking about the obvious imperfection around "Pluribus." Looks die wear but too much GLARE in photo to be sure. Try florescent light for another photo.

    It's a die clash.

I see a possible die clash. Bottom left stem and top right leaf cluster to torch stand out. Maybe someone here can do an overlay?

Good eye, Steven. It's something. And I believe it came from the die, it wasn't on the planchet.

I don't guess this will make it worth much more. Would it?

Ah, you're probably 99.9% right. It looks like the die was somewhat deteriorated in that area in addition to whatever else was going on that caused some of the curious shapes. Having said that, I don't think I'm throwing it in the loose-change cookie jar, I'd be keeping it.

Blue Ridge made a Video of this Die Clash awhile back after seeing one sell for around $400 I believe. Definitely what it is as you can see the (Rev) Leaves on each side of face and Center Column thru the Center of the Face. I hope you held onto it. Great Find

I hope the Blue ridge video mentioned that minor die clashes (like the one pictured in this 4 year old thread) adds very little, if any additional value to the coin, and even significant clashes aren't worth $400.

Here is a good site if you want to learn about clashed dies

I see you are new here today so first, welcome. I have to agree with @Oldhoopster as to most die clashes not being worth a lot in general. They would have to be a major clash with prominent clashing to bring a premium and also have to be in a very high grade. A lot of people make videos and this does not equate to anything being of great value. It depends on what the market would bear. There are also a lot of people who spend their money very foolishly. Do check out the link provided above. I'm not sure if Bob Neff, who runs the site, is or is not up and about though. He was not taking any submissions for a very long time.

Heavy die wear on the reverse that might be obscuring/distorting a light die clash.
