Token with initials "G. V. F."

I recently found several of these in a dealer's junk bin, and am trying to figure out what on earth they might be. Brass, with a beaded border, they appear to have an archaic typeface similar to merchant tokens in use from 1910-1930.

Amusingly enough, the initials seem to be one of the more common European grades for tokens. About the only thing that would be harder to search for online would be a token that merely says "MS61". :)

All I have to say is good luck to you, @GeorgeM. :) I wouldn't even know where to begin with this one.

I did an acronym search, and GVF pulled up "Guyana Volleyball Federation".

And that was one of the more reasonable hits. Sigh.

No token starts out as a Maverick - they just become unknown when the last person who remembered what they were made for passes away without telling a collector.

Does this mean anything to anyone?

    Good observation.

Unfortunately, I think we're in 100% maverick territory here, with this one, though I suppose you could still get lucky and find a definitive hit.

Early 20th century, I'd imagine, based on the style. That's all I've got. Sorry.
