In this case a Cent saved is a Cent earned. That's about all it's worth.

What makes you think that there may be a reason to hold on to it?

 

wide AM...kinda beat up...worth $2

 

It's worth more than $.01 so if that's a reason to hold onto it then yes. If you desire to get wealthy from it then try your luck at the lottery and attempt to sell the penny for $1 and make 1000% profit, assuming it only cost you a cent.

 

Wide AM or not, in that condition, it's $.01 in my book.

 

Since it is a Wide AM coin, I'd hang on to it for sure. Maybe a little time in some Acetone followed with some olive oil but it's definitely worth keeping!

 

I would save it, after all, they are hard enough to find and would fill a space in your album as a variety until a nicer one comes around. But that's just me.

 

Whenever you want to know if you should keep something, ask yourself "can I afford to?"
Since it's only one cent I'm fairly certain you can afford to keep it. So why not? Not like you're any poorer because of it.
