    Hello,
Am trying to get some background info on a silver plate with what appears to be a coin in the middle. Photos of coin, plate, and maker's mark attached.
Any information appreciated, we are trying to settle an estate.
    Thank-you!

Howdy bah0503 - Welcome to the Forum !!

It appears to be just what you think, an 8 reales struck at Cuzco between 1830 - 1834. The coin wa sstruck in .9030 silver and weighed 27.07 gm. The coin was holed, plugged, and then inlaid into this plate. As for numismatic value, it has none. The coin has bene forever ruined in that regard. The marks on the ddge of th eplate appear to be the hallmark of whoever made it. I can't help much with that.

Still an attractive piece of late 19th century silver (certainly worth something from that aspect !!)
