I have always wondered if there is something special about something like a $1 bill that is a DD block. I believe that's what it's called when a note starts with a D and ends with a D called a block? or is everything considered a block? I've read so much stuff but I'm still confused

No nothing special. The D at the beginning of the serial is for the federal reserve bank of Cleveland. On one dollar bills, note that there would also be a D in Federal reserve seal if it was issued to the Cleveland federal reserve. Also take a look at the black 4's on the face of the note. D4 is for Cleveland where as A1 would be for Boston, B2 would be New York and so on.
