Episode about to end, but they just brought in David Vagi from NGC to give a price to the coin.

Seller was asking $102,000 and David put it at $30,000 due to recent auction results.

That inspired me to do a little digging and I came up with the exact coin the seller was attempting to get rid of:

And..... whaddya know? Sold for $30,550

Not the first time I found the same coin some one was trying to sell on the show. Last time it was the barber half dollar that was found on one of the Titanic's victims body.

If I remember, he was asking something around $100,000 for it when it sold for something around $10 or $15k not very long ago.

I'm almost certain David recognized the coin and knew it sold for as much at heritage. I've read that the experts on the show are given time to do some research on any item in question before they actually show up.

Well it only makes sense if that's true

Absolutely, and I also believe David appeared on the episode which featured the Titanic coin and quoted the auction price I was able to locate. That one was at heritage as well.

More like he was sent pictures of it weeks before and researched it before he ever saw it ;)

When they did that with quiz shows on TV, it was called fixing and Congress wound up jumping into people feet first.

On the next episode of Pawn Stars:

Charles Van Doren brings in a 1933 double eagle.

Barber on a dead body? Never saw that one. That's like the creeps that stole the coins off the eyes of dead men back in ye olden days.

Speaking of 33DE, I was on South 8th St. in Philadelphia, Pa just a few days ago. Traffic was stopped so I looked over to my right, behold I was in front of I. Switt jewelry shop.

How does that make it something of value? At least it's not as bad as people that collect canisters of poison gas from the concentratIon camps.

Some of the items on that show are rigged in advance. several of the History Channel use the same props. Last night American Pickers were going through an old farm and they showed a group of old gund. one gun was a rusted flare gun. later on Pawn Stars they showed the same rusted flare gun in the Pawn Stars display cabinet.

That's why I don't watch those much anymore. Too fake. Chum Lee asking for a raise because he's broke, then he's arrested the next day for meth while getting into his 100k car.

You ever wondered why on Storage wars no one other than the regulars win the lockers? Sure seems to be a lot of people there to bid....but never score.

If you watch reruns you'll notice that Rick Dales brother buying a old soda machine from the pawn shop. This was long before he was made a regular on that show.
It's a show about "nothing" and why do we watch it? "Because it's on TV".

Another show full of "drama" below decks! I can assure you growing up on boats no matter what their size....if there's an argument or someone is hooking up everyone on board knows! After all a boat shrinks a least a foot for ever hour you're on board.:wideyed:
