I also saw the same issues that you noticed. I reported it to Ebay and I just got a response: Decision.jpg .

Unfortunately the standard reporting just isn't effective and most just give up.

I occasionally report through the standard way to see the response, and have never had a favorable one. Fortunately, I have a direct reporting channel that gets listings removed.

Earlier I reported this bad 1804 half cent and received the standard report.

I then reported through my direct channel, where it was removed...

We both use the same. The difference is that I used to point them to the one most obvious tell. I've since given up on that, and now just use the same statement I posted above . . .

"Fake . . . if eBay doesn't stop catering to sellers like this we should all cancel our accounts."

While it's likely pure coincidence, better results followed that change.

The one pictured by @Barney McRae was relisted. I reported it using your strategy. I said something like obvious fake, seller in China, remove it or I'll delete my account. Let's see what happens!

Jack, can you point out exactly where the telltale spots are on the fake 93 CC? Common sense screams you don't have 20 of those in MS or AU conditions for sale, but where are the pickup points on the coin itself? Or maybe this is a real coin scanned from photos and fraudulently advertised?

Link? I looked and can't find that same coin. Almost nothing for less than $750 in that date and mint in any condition.

Edit: I found it and reported them again.

Common bad CC reverse used for the CN "CC" fakes; this one has a few added touches...

Found a previous 1885-CC listing with the same reverse:

It's a game of wack-a-mole, I just reported a few myself today. I've been reporting this stuff for over 20 years - an exercise of futility. The Chinese skirt the law because in China what they're doing is completely legal. However, to sell these into the USA without being clearly marked as COPY, they are breaking the law. The CFR defines all this very well:

    https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/section-304.6

Since the Chinese sellers will never be prosecuted, the responsible party should be ebay for allowing it to occur. The first step/solution is easy for the ebay management dummies - ban ALL Chinese sellers from selling coins on your platform. They have no respect for ANY countries laws other than China and it's LEGAL in China to make "fantasy coins" as long as they're not Chinese denomination counterfeits. Why should they have the privledge of selling coins on a global platform like ebay?

Perhaps I'll buy a few hundred of these from different sellers and document it all. Who will join my class action vs ebay? :vamp:

Minutes after reporting and "AI" makes a decision - AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Perfect fodder for the class action suit.

So lets see Mr.AI - the seller already sold 75 of these below market value. I think they're programing needs some serious repair!

I don't see COPY stamped on the reverse per the Code of Federal Regulations. Some Chinese seller primarily selling clothes on ebay just happens to own 76 American half dollar coins from the 1800's? GREAT programing AI boys!!!

I've often wondered why the FTC hasn't gone after them. Of course, if you go after them yourself, this might happen:

Ex-eBay execs heading to prison for harassing couple behind newsletter

I got the usual denial. "We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent."

This is the item I reported, now shows as sold, "out of stock." https://www.ebay.com/itm/395639017441. It says relisted, but if you go to that one, it says 5 available, but "This listing was ended by the seller on Sun, Sep 1 at 8:32 PM because the item is no longer available." Seller items are now all clothes, coins are gone. Look for these to reappear soon.

If ebay spent half the energy going after these sellers as they did harassing the couple in the CNN article I posted above, they wouldn't have so many of these counterfeits.

If eBay decides someday to say, "We do not know if this object is a "fake", so any purchase is not under any warranty, and may not be returned for refund...", then
If the US forces the Chinese to stop selling them to the US, the Chinese may strike back, and refuse US products. There goes almost every US sellers such as walmart, clothing stores.etc. All the Tool stores, electronics, computers, internet supplies. etc/ . As things stand the US imports about 3 X from China than the reverse trade
and the US will not want to change it. Let buyers learn how to diagnose the coin
    as we hopefully did.

All of that seller's Morgans look the same, dirty condition without any bag marks or denticle flaws.
