Hello, I went garage selling last week and found a bag of token and foreign coins. The lady said the coins were her father’s. I bought the lot and brought them home. This one coin caught my eye, I’m fairly certain it’s Roman but I can’t find this exact coin. Several reverse searches point to a tribute penny of Tiberius. Any help identifying will be appreciated.
    Thanks, Moe

It sadly appears to be a counterfeit.

That was one thought I had as well. Very mushy appearance and no matches. Well at least I’m not out much. Thanks for your help.

Yep, looks like a fake imitating a Tiberius tribute penny. Looks like you can see the casting seam on the edge, and the bust style looks very rudimentary. The coin definitely looks cast and not struck.
