Krause lists two varieties for the smaller 1920 France 5 centimes with the hole. One is listed as 3 grams and the other as 2. I don't have a way to measure the weight, so is there any other way to tell them apart? Google searches haven't helped me.
They are two different sizes, as well as the weight being different. One is 17mm, the earlier one is 19mm.
I don't have Krause, so I can't see what you're seeing, but both Gadoury and Le Franc show two 1920 5c Lindauer coins, one is 19mm/3g and the other is 17mm/2g.
OK, thanks. I would make sense because how could they be the same size and one weigh half again as much? Unless it was much thicker.
in my 2016 Krause it has both sizes. KM#865a 1920 5 centimes, 19mm, weight- 3 grams, mintage-51,321,000 grade/value VF-$0.50 XF-$1.75 MS-60-$3.50 MS-63-$8.00 KM#875 1920 5 centimes, 17mm, weight- 2 grams, mintage- same as above grade/value F-$5.00 VF-$15.00 XF-$28.00 MS-60-$75.00 MS-63-$150.00 fingers crossed here that you have the smaller size 17mm Krause values may differ than real life market values.
