    You just can't trust those Spaniards!!

    They had, what 200 years and nothing, so they grab our ship.

    Our idiot government will probably agree with them (the Spaniards).

    It remains to be seen where the gold and silver came from. If it is from the galleon 'Merchant Royal' then Odyssey Exploration will be lucky to get back their ship, let alone haveing to return the coins already sent back to the states. That was a 'no-no' anywhere you go and they knew it before they sent them back. It it turns out that the treasurer is in fact in Spanish teritorial waters then ALL recovered material muct be returned, along with a very hefty fine.

    The only Spaniard I ever trusted accused me of killing his father and told me I should prepare to die. He kept wanting to count my fingers or something.

    Dear Spain:

    Ah, quit crying and grow up.
    You had two to three hundred years to do something, and what?
    All that you could manage to do was:
    1) elect Franco;
    2) decide to be 'neutral' in WWII.
    Gimme a break.

    P.S. Ha, ya blew it with the New World. Are ya still crying?

    well with a spanish lawyer on board and being forced out of international waters and into spanish ones I'd say marine odyssey will do what they want. Personally I'd continue to dredge the collection and tell those spaniards to prove I was in their water in a U.S. court then prove they had a right to the wreck, and prove the wreck was in their water. If the location is a secret so much loss for spain.

    how can spain be mad that odyssey is "stealing" their gold? it's on a british ship, who stole it from the spanish, who stole it from indians. in the highly unlikely event spain manages to get their hands on the treasure, i say mexico/peru should countersue on the same grounds. give baby a taste of his own medicine.

    Oh here we go again. All talk negative about Spain, when perhaps they are right. Company never say where wreck is, etc. Looks suspicious even from afar.

    The ship should have been siezed. These ae heirlooms that belong to a nation and only they can auction them. Kinda like the morgan find by the mint in the early seventies.
