Screenshot 2024-08-19 185408.jpg 1964Set1.jpg 1964Set2.jpg Would either of these Kennedy Half Proofs from 1964 be considered "Accented Hair?" I reviewed the photos from PCGS, and from other sources. A second (third or fourth) opinion couldn't hurt.

As always - thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Check the I in Liberty. There is a small truncation protruding from the bottom of it off to the right side in all accented hair varieties. Yours doesn't have one....

+1 for, not the AH variety.

The Accented hair varieties are often found with the Blunt 9 dime.

Thanks for all of the posts! Learned something new to look for (Blunt 9 dime). Looking back at the proofs - it does appear that at least one of the proof s are contained in a blunt 9 set (see attached).

These are not. Look at the I in LIBERTY. Broken lower left serif on AH. Also, you can look at the sideburns, they are not as pronounced on the AH.

The I in LIBERTY is the clue but it’s not in the photos. Best to show the entire coin.

I hope you were referring to the I in Liberty on the half dollars - if so here they are, full coins. If it was the dimes you wanted to see - just let me know.

It's my understanding that this piece qualifies.

The missing bottom-left serif on the I in LIBERTY is the clue.
