Don't call us ladies. Doing that is foolish. Yes I'm a redneck and you piss me off calling me a lady.

On aware you consider your self part of the others. I only call them as I see them. And if you are a redneck you'll know what this phrase means. It is better being piss off than on. And if someone calls you a lady upsets you, you may want to seek professional help. Evidently you had no one push you to your breaking point. If you did someone calling you a lady you just laugh.A lot of you will find this quote hard to understand. But the ones who have been pushed to their breaking point. Will know exactly what I mean.USMC60

All that over what amounts to a suggestion to cite your sources, huh? Now do you understand why it was so painfully clear you were not using your own words?

But no... you're a "non-conformist", a rebel who isn't tied down to the restraints of simple respect or fair play. Neck boots have become necessary to wade through the nonsense you spew.

Since you, Mr. Non Conformist, feel you're above the rest of us and even simple decency, perhaps this will show you there can be unintended consequences from what may seem to be innocent actions....

At least be so kind as to read the first post. If our reasoning and suggestions are not enough for you, perhaps Peter's direct request will be. While you may not have copied the same author, you did take from the same site.

Well, I'll bet I'm not alone when I'd like to watch when you and your non-conforming beliefs stroll into a REAL "redneck" bar after they have been drinking for several hours and call out all the "ladies" you see. :dead:

BOOKSB4 I'm a 61-year-old man. I'm definitely not that computer savvy. Many months ago members accuse another member of stealing a photo of a coin. And in CT fashion members were all over this guy like piranhas on a fish that falls into the water. After that I started asking questions about copying and pasting from other sites. I was basically told that if a site does not want you to copy any of their site that is easily accomplished. By putting in safeguards. And I have found that to be true about many sites. That you cannot copy anything from that site. Now if the operator of that site fails to put in the safeguards to prevent copying of materials from their site. So legal actions may not be taken for material copied. It only applies if material on a site is copied by hacking. Like I said I don't understand all this computer legal mumbo-jumbo. So it would be redundant for me to check on this issue again. And I would appreciate it if you kindly get off my back.USMC60

All I'll say to that is being the doorman on many redneck establishments. I've thrown out many ladies that have had too much to drink. And that also includes women. Tell you the truth they're the worst. Because I was always taught never to hit a girl. Over the years I have watched many of the ladies and women spend their night in jail sobering up. So being shot or stabbed is not new to me, been there done that. Anybody that's ever worked at and establishment that serves alcohol, knows that drunks are the worst to deal with. Basically it boils down they will not feel any pain till the next day. So do you have any more suggestions for me.USMC60.:blackalien:

So unless steps were taken so little ole you can't so easily steal it, anything and everything open to copying is fair game and anyone who says otherwise, including the owner of this very site, is an idiot? Oy! Perhaps you should take a look in the mirror, dear sir; something tells me you'll find one staring back.

You didn't even bother opening the provided link, did you? I'm guessing not - that would be "redundant" and completely unreasonable - so please allow me to do this for you too... (Out of respect for Peter's wishes, the offending party's name has been removed).

Oh, and here is an excerpt from the rules as well.....

    5 – Copyright violations

Copyright law is very specific. It clearly states that any article may not be copied or reproduced without the express written permission of the author or holder of the copyright. And contrary to what you might think – everything is copyrighted, including pictures. What that means is that if you find what you think is a neat or very informative article or picture on another web site and you wish to share it with your friends on Coin Talk – you CANNOT just copy & paste that article on Coin Talk. It is against the law.

If you wish to share, please by all means do so. But do so in the right way. Copy the first sentence or two and paste them if you must, but it is preferable to just use your own words as an introduction and then post a link to the article you wish to share. Or a link to the picture you wish to share.

Feel free to live in whatever dream world you wish, but at least show a little respect for the board, umkay?

If you knew me you would understand just how far you are from the truth. You of all people should understand the importance of following the rules both here and in everyday life. The folks above are telling you the truth. I hope you will take the time to read what has been posted and learn from it.

Believe me I understand more than you think. As stated before I'm not attorney and I cannot speak intelligently on something that I have not learned yet. All I can do as a regular citizen is to ask questions. The question I have asked a prominent attorney concerning copyright law concerning copyright documents and photos. In order to be a protected under the copyright law you are required to follow the proper procedures. Failure to comply with the proper copyright procedures may not protect you against copyright infringements on unprotected documents or photos. Generally as a rule I always look to see if a quote or photo has been copyrighted. I asked this gentleman to please explain in terms that I could understand. He put it to me this way. You are on a public coin forum. You make a quote and post a photo. Is that protected under the copyright law.? ldhair I preferred to leave this as it is. I would like to know what the other members think.?:blackalien:

Maybe we can bring this back on topic.
I bought and sold stamps from Young Bros. for about 20 years. Everything they did was made in the US. They do hand cut and machine made but they only started in 1904. I'll guess that machine made means they were pressed. The imports killed my sales of the Young product and I had to go with the imports about 10 years ago. Check out this link. http://www.youngbrosstampworks.com/products-overview/

    That is absolutely false !

What copied and pasted in post #15 comes from this website -
    http://coins.about.com/od/coinsglossary/g/coin_hubbing.htm

And you not only copied their text, you copied their photograph as well. And if you scroll to the bottom of that page you will see that it is indeed copyrighted. So what you did by copying and pasting that is a violation of copyright law, and a violation of the forum rules.

And, the company that owns that website is the exact same company referred to in this thread - https://www.cointalk.com/threads/another-website-tried-to-legally-take-cointalk-out-today.224737/ - as posted by BooksB4Coins.

The 2nd time you violated copyright was in post #20. That comes directly from here - http://www.madehow.com/Volume-2/Coin.html

What you and any other member can and cannot do is explained quite well in the CT thread I linked above. I suggest everyone read it, and more importantly - obey what is said there !

GD I admitted I screwed up. I'll do my best not to let it happen again. And I will say I'm finding out a lot of interesting facts about copyrighted law.USMC60

I'm not just speaking to you alone here usmc - I'm speaking to every member of this forum. You're far from being alone when it comes to breaking the copyright rule, people do it all the time. And ya know I've never really understood it, I mean why do some find it necessary to copy paste what they find on another website ? If you want to share the information that you find - Great ! I even applaud members for doing that. But it is so easy to share that information by simply posting a link to it. There is absolutely no need to copy paste it, nor is there any benefit to copying and pasting.

But copying and pasting copyrighted material can indeed do a great deal of harm, financial harm ! And not only harm to this forum, but financial harm to you personally as well. When you copy paste copyrighted information you just made yourself liable to a civil suit. And don't think you're safe and can hide behind anonymity because you can't - you have no anonymity, none !

Like I said GD won't let it happen again I hope. I agree totally with 98% of your statement. Except for the last part so far what I've discovered under the law. In small cases like this a lot of the times the judicial system sees it as a fair usage act. Which makes it legal to use a copyrighted material or photo. Like I said GD I try to learn from my mistakes.:blackalien:PS. Must not forget about everything that doesn't qualify for copyright.

BOOKSI have went through the link and much more research. It seems Sir you do not edited hole in the ground when it comes to copyright infringement. Due to the remarks in your quotes. Though you seem to be very knowledgeable and other aspects by your statements regarding copyright infringements you know absolutely nothing. Not only do I suggest you read up on copyright infringement laws but also read up on slander. By your statement you left yourself open for a civil suit. That I will also suggest you read up on. I have not broken any copyright laws. And if you were as knowledgeable as you make yourself out to be you would know this. The only thing I did was violate coin talk rules. Which is understandable because Peter runs a profit-making site. BOOKS I have taken the time these last few days and even email a couple of prominent copyright attorneys. I would suggest you do the same before you accuse someone of stealing something. And by law you knowingly and willingly committed slander. So I guess in your guys that's okay to call someone a thief when you don't have the correct information.Or know what you're talking about. And Sir I will use a quote from your own statement.
perhaps this will show you there can be unintended consequences from what may seem to be innocent actions....Sir this also applies to you when it comes to slander.USMC60
