I'd guess MS64. There are a few marks on the reverse, but maybe not enough to rule out MS65. And, it may be the pic, but what is the line that appears to connect some of the lettering on the reverse? In any sense, I wish it was my coin! Great find.

Same as the 1880 in my opinion. MS-64 a very nice GSA coin.

    Nice coin.
I would agree with the MS-64 opinions.

Nice coin! I agree it looks like a solid 64 to me.

Sorry, guys, but there is a lot of chatter on the cheek, neck and a hit on the nose.
    63.

You are right Treashunt, buyers do not want marks on the bust (description of the head). I am not even close to being a Morgan collector but if it was a Peace Dollar it would be a 60, tops.

I've got to say ms-63 because of the obv.

I personally like it as a 63, but these do end up in 64 holders.

I went to the coin store today (another story soon) with my father, every time we do that we return to his house I get too(he almost makes me :) ) look at his morgans. When looking at his 64/65's PCGS and NGC coins I have noticed that some of the 64's can have more bag marks, but they also have some really good mint luster. The problem I have is telling what the dividing line is - to me this one looked good on the luster so I bumped it up. I think it is impossible to guess (at times) what PCGS(or NGC) is going to do.

I would give it a 63, but, you might squeak a 64 out from a tpg.

i'm more inclined to give it a 63 due to the cheek , nose and eyebrow chatter combined w/ lower field marks on obverse and deep contact mark in reverse field...cool die crack. it may be more attractive in hand and get the bumb as mark_h was stating tho. i still like it and would be quite pleased to have it in my set. thanks again for sharing.
