I must have hit this goal yesterday but I just noticed it so it’s time to celebrate. Better late than never. Lol
It’s an 1855 Large Cent. It has the Upright Fives. There are three varieties for this coin. There were 1,574,829 originally minted of all varieties. This coin was designed by James B. Longacre. The slanting fives were a peculiarity of his. It’s believed that the upright fives were designed by an apprentice of his.
This coin has taken on a nice toning which is slightly visible in my photos. A beautiful bluish on both sides. The condition is in the AU range and mint luster is still fairly strong.
