MS65 Excellent photo and enlargement accentuate the dings on the cheek.

I'll go with 65. A 66 has to be nearly flawless.

Just wait until you try to VAM a Dan Carr 64d Morgan. It's gonna be DAM hard :p

I kinda doubt it'll be more than one die pair involved. VAM-1. :)

How cool would it be if at the end of the run he clashes the dies and makes an E clasher? I would buy that!

Have you seen some of the errors he made with the peace dollars in the production blog. Boy oh boy. I don't think he released any though

Can you imagine some of the error's that got pulled off the lines back when the original Morgans were being minted? I'm sure some of those had to be spectacular!!

That's unfair, Dave. I'm having a hard enough time holding on to my money as it is. :)

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The fields are smooth as butter, and that reverse is remarkably mark free. The luster is above average, and the strike is strong. I would not be surprised with a 66 grade.

However, there are a few distractors that keep this out of 66 for me: The discoloration on the reverse is distracting, and appears to be from an improperly rinsed dip (the hazy spots on the obverse are most likely from the same cause). There is a fleck of green something on the reverse denticle at k8, and I find that distracting. There is also what appears to be a partial fingerprint on the reverse at k10. Combine those with a smattering of marks on the cheek (a couple of which appear to be substantial), and this coin looks to be a 65+ to me.
