/vaultbox.com/series-info/vaultbox-remix-red-edition-information/ If this sells out at $3000. Well people have too much $
Seems like they've been at this for quite a while now. I wouldn't have expected them to stay in business this long.
They sold out yesterday, on the day of release. They essentially went with $300/coin incentivized by the guaranteed red core in every box.
As if I'd pay anything extra for a coin with a red core . . . . Maybe QVC will be selling them to grandmothers.
The original remix might have been fun, and I was willing to try the funbox, but no, I'm not trying a $4,000 vault box. Most people are going to lose their respective shirts on this one.
There was a comment on the PCGS forum about someone watching an unboxing. Every coin was under $400, even the one red core. So at least that one case was a complete loss.
What's the biggest winner? The 1798? I noticed some ancients in the distro. None were super-amazing. I would have been happy with any of them, just not for that price. Most were run-of-the mill. I love Khrusru II drachms, but at VF I could get a nice one at $50 if I shopped around. Quite a few of the listed ancients were around the $50-75 price point in raw form, assuming that none were rare types. I could find a VF Postumus on a good day for $35. Four grand is a bit too rich for me. I could do my own (the two coin version) remix next buy; a Morgan and a comparable ancient. Only no registered mail this time...
yeah this one was way outta my price range/comfort zone.. and the prize list was not even close to what it should have been with that priceing.. I'll still try again but like previouly the prize list has got to add up, like it did for series 7 and even the funbox both of those series offered a decent chance at some nice prizes including the black cores.. I'll keep watching and see what the next one looks like (expecting another world/ancient series next but that's just a guess )
