I have same coins as you! Here is a rare one/ Mallorca AV Real d'oro ND Mallorca Mint Pedro IV " El Cruel" 1336-87 One of the many coins I won from Roma Auctions. I have 55 coins from their great auctions/ sadly they are now gone due to that stupid Eid Mar fiasco about nothing......
I have checked through this thread and I don't think we have had these two: Edward the Black Prince, son of Edward III of England. He never got to be King in England as he pre-deceased his father, but coins were issued for him in France: Harold I of England, known as "Harefoot" meaning fleet of foot, presumably because he kept running away!
Burgundy/ Holland/ Bavarian Counts AV Florin d'or ND De Hague Mint Willem V "The Insane" 1350-89 Comte de Hollande At a banquet/ a drunken Knight made a bad joke about Willem (Wiilhelm) So the Count drew his boardsword and with one well aimed swing......decapitated that mans heaad
There were lots of rulers called "the Great" most did not deserve that title. Peter the Great of Russia to name one. Charles XII of Sweden who lost the Great northern War due too be outnumbered/ gunned 10-1 vs six enemy nations/ was a far better captain of history. Too bad the Swedes did not destroy the Russians at Poltava. Actually fighting is going on there now versus Putin's thugs.
True, but unfortunately he got lucky and Eastern Europe has suffered greatly because of it, especially in the 20th century.
