Hey all! NEW thread here. I'm calling this "Sal's Sensational Seated Liberty Saturday!". Just post ANY Seated Liberty coin that you wish and sit back and enjoy folks! I have here a Seated dime and a Trade Dollar. Both ladies seated, why? Anyone know? Here we go :
Seriously, would you want to be standing since 1853 or 1878??? Look how comfortable they seem! I think the Walkers would have something to say about that!
Here is the coin that got the Liberty Seated design started, the 1836 Gobrecht Dollar with the original coin rotation of the dies. The idea stemmed from the seated Britannia figure that appeared on British coins. And if you go back further ... A denarius of Tiberius.
