I've been known to be a little clairvoyant, and I see a particularly nice one somewhere in your future :D.

I was going to make a new thread but since I've already done a writeup I'll just share my new coin in this old thread. I finally picked up the other denarius minted by this moneyer, featuring Jupiter & Juno Sospita and this time, non-serrate:
    Cr379.1.JPG
Roman Republic L. Procilius AR Denarius(3.70g, 19mm). Rome, 80 BC. Head of Jupiter right; S•C behind / L PROCILI F, Juno Sospita advancing right, holding spear and shield aloft; serpent before. Crawford 379/1; Sydenham 771; Procilia 1.

And while we're on the subject, an updated photo of the OP coin:

I think this is the first time where I've collected every single coin of a single gens as identified by Babelon & RSC.

TIF you are on target. I too would like to have a hippocamp biga.
When I read hippocamp biga I think of Fantasia....

Well done on the gens collection! I've never accomplished anything similar in ancients but have completed some runs of all known tokens from an Air Force base so I know the feeling.

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

Here's the only Procilius I could find in my collection photos. This denarius has an old auction provenance, but off the top of my head, I don't recall what it is!

I love the type and congrats on your cool new and nicely provenanced coin, Spork!

This is mine. It's the first coin I ever found a provenance on and it sparked my interest to research provenances as part of my collecting enjoyment. This coin came from Haeberlin 1933.

The current CNG esale has a large consignment of McCabe duplicates with some great collecting notes on many of the coins.

    Thanks :)

I did pick up a couple of former McCabes soon after that post but I'm always on the lookout for interesting Republicans formerly owned by people of note.

There are indeed quite a few gems among the McCabe offerings in the CNG esale. I say that openly, in advance of closing because (as mentioned in the Too Broke for Dattari thread) I've got no cash to bid with!! :arghh:

I'm unfortunately in the same boat. No fuel left in the bidmobile at the moment so I'm just hoping some others here pick up some nice coins and hoping the prices realized are in McCabe's favor so we can see more of his cool provenance and pickup posts on FORVM.
