A few items over the last few months. Bought a capital holder and selected my best wartime nickels: Bustie Thought this was really cool, I dont really know anything about it: A very nice common 86 with pretty reverse:
Went a tad bit off the reservation on this one. As commemorative's haven't been a good purchase for me over the years. Have owned several but only have a few in the collection. One was a San Diego 1935 s and San Diego has always been an fun destination for me. I've always enjoyed my time spent in southern California. And also collect expo items from world fairs and expo's. And now scoring the 1936 D/D QDO variety in a nice toned example.
I don't think I've posted this before, just got it in hand this week but these are seller's photos. It's better than I ever hoped for. Paid AU 58 money for it. Will send off for grading. I've gotten better at eyeballing coin in hand. Hoping for MS 62 or 63. It's got small ding near the mouth, other than that really good for this year and mint. What a huge difference in conditional rarity and value.
Recently decided to buy a dansco 7070 type set and start filling it with my best specimens, at least without drawing from my whitman morgan albums. After filling it up with what I've got, I think I have about 25 holes left to fill but there's a good lot of them that will be upgraded as I stumble upon them. Today's new acquisitions: an UNC 1883 (with "cents") nickel [which I think may be a well-worn proof] and a AU 1849 half cent (brown). I'll post pictures of them when I've got some time to set up the shoe box but my work schedule is running me ragged for the time being. Just wanted to say I'm super stoked to start (and get 80% done immediately) this type set! Hoping to add pictures of it soon.
She looks nearly flawless! I've got a lot of Peace Dollars I need to examine closely that haven't seen daylight in 50 years. Some are really nice! Edit.....I'm a dummy. Thought it was a 1924. Just nickname me Dementia Joe.
Don't have much gold, but couldn't bypass this one from @CHARLES GINETTO at about melt! In the BST forum. Nice guy
