    An interesting 1 Uncia (૪A) scale weight arrived today. It has letters on the top and side. I need some help translating the letters on the side: OY AΓAΠHT.
    One Uncia Byzintine bronze barrell weight, 4th to 6th centuries
    Obv - ૪A
    Rev - blank with centering dot
    Side - OY AΓAΠHT Seller translated the side to say the magistrate’s name: Agapetos.
    28.0 grams; 18 x 14 mm
    Can someone here translate the letters on the side? I do not find the letter combination, OY AΓAΠHT, in the scale weight web site - pondera.uclouvain.be. A google search gives lots of part numbers for electronic stuff.
    I do not know how the seller read the Greek letters. When I search for Agapetos in pondera, I found one weight. The pondera description says it is a magistrate's name.

    The pondera weight:
    ARCHAEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WEIGHT
    AUTHORITYL. Septimius Stat[..] a.k.a. Agapetos, agoranomos (Laodicea)
    MINT Laodicea ad Mare
    DENOMINATION = 1 Libra = 1 Litra
