Anyone heard of NGL coin grading?

A few minutes ago, I came across this Etsy seller who is selling coins that are graded by NGL (Numismatic Grading LLC), and I suspect it's a self-slabber because most of the coins are horribly overgraded.

Here is a 1917 Mercury dime in a G-4 slab. What's worse is that they are passing damaged coins off as problem-free, and making their slabs look a lot like NGC's.

The seller is "CoinGrading", and while the top 4 grading companies have accurately graded the coins, NGL coins are mostly problem-free or overgraded period. I do recommend that you check out this for yourself to see if there is any information on this company.

Not Gonna Lie, looks like a basement slabber to me. And of course they're going to make their slabs as confusingly similar to the Big Two as they can.

What was that other one that used to show up on eBay, PCGGS? PCCGS? And, of course, NCG.

 

It's a fake company. Doesn't exist. G4, Really!! More like Gee 4 Someone else!

I honestly came into coins too late to see the Ebay basement slab junk, but names like PCGGS or PCCGS should be illegal if trying to counterfeit PCGS.

They've tried everything, though. From TCGS to CCGS to even PCGS with different initials, some of these people belong in a mental institute.

To think, if the owner of SGS hadn't stole that guy's lawn mower and put it for sale, we would likely still have them to this day! I've come across a lot of them, and for the actual grade, sometimes it's not something that would go in Fred Sanford's junkyard.

Exactly! If someone is crazy enough to pay $7 for that, they will need some help. I have sold better examples of that coin in junk silver, but I guess the buyer is left to judge. If they've sold any of those, though, it'd be a tragedy for any buyer because they still charge over Greysheet and CPG at most times.

I wish I could. It seems that the file extension on the first image (the image with the label) is different than on the other two.

That's not a grading company, it's an unsealed slab with a paper label.

Sorry. Still not a G4 despite the label. Does the slab open up easily? It's a "basement Grader".

There was/is a "company" in Canada doing the same thing, mimicking ICCS (the main Canada-based grading company) as ICGS or something. They duplicated the soft plastic flips, insert card had the same exact font and design, at a glance you would be fooled. Why are you looking at coins on Etsy?

 

Who know why anyone does. Look at Etsy that is.

 

And that is the key question!

 

Mainly because I needed some time to kill. I went there and searched "graded coins" after seeing the CoinHelpu page of grading companies and self-slabbers.

 

That's an expensive version of a cardboard 2x2.
