i searched the old threads and didn't find exactly what I was looking for so here it goes. I collect rolls of coins. Bank wrapped either for the name of the bank on the wrapper (since they don't do that anymore) or for the coins inside. If there is anyone out there that might do the same thing, how do you store your wrapped coins? Do you store them individually in tubes, just leave them out, what? For the $25 bank boxes, do you keep them in that box or remove them? I heard a few people say the wrappers harm the coins and also a few others say that the impact is minimal.
I just store mine in an air tight (well, that's what it was advertised as) safe in my basement with a de-humidifyer to control the humidity. Of course on silver rolls the end coins may exhibit some form of toning BUT the inner coins are always perfect! Cardboard has sulpher in it and sulpher tends to tone silver - so get rid of anything cardboard.
JP's Corner has a variety of storage boxes made of sturdy paperboard, and they hold up well. I've had mine for more than 10 years. I prefer the plain box (by denomination) over the box with dividers. http://www.jpscorner.com/coin-tube-storage-boxes.html Chris
