Congratulations sir! I have the entire set as well but in raw XF or better. I’m not a variety collector but I would like to have a 1911-D week D. I have the strong D. It’s the only gold series that an average poor man can avoid to complete. Well Done!
I really like they are all by the same grading company and almost all in AU same grade. Makes for a beautiful display for these beautiful coins. How long did it take you to do this' Edit: I forgot to mention the 1911 Weak D is a XF, but it is a variety and the other 1911 is AU. Takes absolutely nothing away from this set.
I have to admit, if I was going to do a US gold set this would be the one. I have always liked the design.
Dennis, I've got to say, that is one smoking hot set. I love the coin, your collection, the grade, and everything about your tenacity in completing the set. Kudos my friend. That's absolutely a collection to display proudly.
@lardan Back in February this year, I was wondering if their was a gold set I could afford to do. I wanted to do this as a gift to myself for reaching my 80th birthday. I purchased the first coin on February 27th and the last on July 10th.
How do you safeguard your beauties? Safe? I keep most stuff in bank vaults but there is no enjoyment of that when you can't pull them out to admire and show friends.
