I need other opinions on this coin. It looks to me like a 1803 Sheldon 12L which shouldn't exist. Probability suggests:

    1. Misattribution on my part.
    2. Mistake in Posting photos.
    3. And this is one I'm always looking for - A new undiscovered variety.

I don't have a cross reference for the Sheldon and Breen die names but it looks to me like a perfect dies S-256.

That's the reverse I have Sheldon L (Breen M), but the Obverse looks like the Sheldon 12 (Breen 11.)

The conjunction of the Bust loop directly above the 3 rather than right of the 3 and the more parallel alignment of the top of the 3 and the bottom of the bust are what drew my attention. Unfortunately, dentils are not visible for confirmation.

Looking at LIBERTY and the HWH and SHWH look like the 10 (HWH just right of the upright of R rather than below it and SHWH toward the middle of the E) while the position of the 3 relative to the bust and loop look like the 12 (3 clear of both the drapery and the loop and loop merging with bust above the right side of the 3 rather than to the right of the 3). There is no other obverse that fits, so this is probably either damaged or a new Obverse.
