    Hello everyone,
Today I did a 4 hour metal detecting hunt at Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park. I had to cut it short due to high heat and humidity. It was nasty out there!

Next Saturday my wife and I are heading back to Puerto Rico for a 8 day getaway. And guess what's coming with me? My new NOKTA Legend!!! :woot:

I will be doing beach detecting most of the time. First 4 days I'm visiting family with plenty of beaches nearby in the East coast town of Fajardo. And the last 4 days our hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. I will be on the sand at 5AM
(While my wife sleeps until 9AM)

    Here are today's finds..

    1946 Washington Quarter
    1945 Winged Liberty Head Dime

Oh yes it has. With the almost $1000.00 in prizes I won with it at the Rock Hill South Carolina event I participated in, it has definitely passed the $600.00 I paid for it.
    Did you see that thread?

The 2 silver coins were number 32 and 33 for NYC finds. That also adds up in silver melt value. I'm hoping to detect gold in Puerto Rico!

All Environmental damage. That's just the "finds". LOL.
The finds are totally awesome! What's that little device? Little detector? Calling MiniMe unit.
That's one thing that I've never found is an oriental coin. Chinese I presume?
Have a total blast down there in PR with family and Metal Detecting. Maybe you'll find some rich persons jewelry or better yet, a Money clip with money still attached. Hey! It could happen.... ( dreaming....). biggrin.gif

Japanese 5 yen 1959-1989, that one is probably from the 50's. @paddyman98

Two more silvers! Congratulations! Looks like a bunch of fun finds and yes that heat is bad. Glad you had the sense to get out early and stop when it became excessive.
Have a great time in PR and fun while visiting family.

Paddy, please consider if it’s that hot in NYC, how hot is it in PR?

She said she will join me 1 early morning to record a video for YouTube.

I'm taking her to an Orchid Expo in Caguas, Puerto Rico. This is the 3rd time we will attend. We are good friends with the guy who is giving the show. She will get whatever she wants there!

    Nice finds, Eddie.

Question for you. How do you transport your detecting gear? Obviously you have a case for the detector itself. Is it a hard sided case? Brand, style, lockable? What about your shovels and pinpointer?

Thanks for whatever info you can offer.

Hope you find some lost treasures of Ponce de Leon. Just keep it on the hush hush.....until you get it home. Then blow up on CT with some great pix and stories.;)

I take the metal detector apart. I only need my sand scoop and pinpointer. Also a light bag that hangs from the waist for the beach finds. It all fits into my luggage surrounded by my clothes to protect everything. I just always pray that it arrives at the destination!

Not a traveler by any means. Have you ever had the luggage inspected before because of the electrical components?
Are there any old finds or mostly new ones on the beach that you got to?

Nice finds. 2 things: Again no nickels and , how could you
even tell those were "wheat cents"?

No. The luggage where I store the detecting equipment is tagged, weighed and taken away to be put o the plane to its destination before we go through TSA security. Only our carry-on luggage and bags are inspected at the TSA security area. I have never had a problem.

    True about the Nickels :wideyed:

Some you can clearly see the Wheat backs. On the others it is hard to tell unless they are wet. So, when I do my initial rinse to get most of the dirt off the coins I can see the outline of the Wheat Stalks, so I just separate them.
