In C-B-D's case, he's figured out the truth about being a winner: it's not so much about talent as it is wanting it more than the rest, and working harder than the rest. Ebay is a still killing field for cherrypickers willing to do what it takes.
I love this group! I especially dig the '58 half and the cent. I think the half dime will straight grade: those scratches are probably barely noticeable on such a tiny coin, and they're in a not very conspicuous place. If anything, it'll get a 1 grade ding from what it otherwise would get.
Nice group! Here's my guess's on the lot. MS65BN AU53BN MS62 (could be a slider, but it looks like it could go MS) XF45-AU50 MS65 PF66 PF67 (Possible Details for questionable color) MS65 (Mint Error grease filled die)
Very nice group of coins. I like the Lincoln cent the best. I do hope they straight grade the Franklins for you
I can attest to this. The guy wakes up and cherrypicks eBay before coffee! Craziest thing I've ever seen and I've seen alot of crazy sh.. stuff!
All toners should go to PCGS only. NGC is ridiculous with color. Look, they even had another very similar one with it that they straight graded!!
Agreed. If anything, I like the rim toning on the first one better than the spottiness on the second. If you're heartbroken just send them to me.
I think all the TPG's are starting to get very conservative. I just got a submission back from ANACS and was a bit underwhelmed on a few. The AT on that Franklin is total BS, the one that I thought they would question straight graded while the one I thought would straight grade was AT'd.. Insane...
I agree wholeheartedly. The TPGs are getting very nitpicky and quick to throw coins in the details pile. I'm submitting all my Civil War tokens to PCGS now before they figure out what they're doing...
