The Mint is bumping up their prices, I see.

How do they justify charging 3X spot price? Is this a government mint or a tourist trap?

They justify this by the fact they will still sell out, I am so happy I cancelled my subscription. The set I have in 21 is PCGs 70, and the 23's are raw with OGP. I didn't want them graded due to the uptick in mintage, and the family likes OGP more than the slabs. If they ever come-out with an ehanced version of each I will probably obtain those, otherwise I am done.

Thanks for posting this for all to see.

Nothing assured except death and taxes......and price rises at the mint. :)

Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound.

So they didn't have a contract to buy the silver for these at a set price months or more ago? Reminds me of gasoline where when the price per barrel goes up, the price at the pump immediately goes up too. Like gasoline magically appears instantaneously that was made at the new cost. But I don't pretend to understand economics.

If the coins still sell out and there are still people wanting to buy at that price after the coins sell out doesn’t that mean the mint still has the price too low?

I guess that means I have to change my approach.

I stopped buying from the mint many years ago. And that's after being a loyal customer for a solid 50 years.

Now my approach will have to be changed to, there isn't an ice cubes chance in hell I will ever buy anything again from the US Mint.

    Ahhhhh, I feel better now.

Thanks for making me happy. I’m smiling tonight as I’m so glad that I do not buy from the mint and this is the reason why.

I haven't bought anything from the mint in years. Too expensive and going higher as we can see.

That makes me happy that I cancelled my subscriptions for them a while ago.

Truth be told. I've never ever bought from The Mint. All mines have been gifts. Hmm?

My only purchase from the mint was a 1971-S brown box Ike for $10. What a great investment that was.

the mint is off my list as of 2023 when the sub i signed up for was sold out. they sell out due to a few buyers purchasing the vast majority. its a total scam by the mint.
watch enough broadcast tv to see all the silver eagle ads. and seeing graded examples for less than mint. just my uninformed 2 cents.

Here's an example of how much thought those at the decision making level put into this travesty.

Armed Forces 2.5 Ounce Silver Medal
    Current Price…………….….$175
    Price Effective July 9……....$225

That is a price increase of 28.57%

2019 American Liberty 2.5 Ounce Silver Medal
    Current Price…………….….$175
    Price Effective July 9……....$242.50

That is a price increase of 38.57%

Same amount of silver. Neither are coins. Both are medals.
Why the even more exorbitant price increase on the '19 American Liberty?

Those aren’t price increases, they are price gouges. And we thought our government said that inflation is down and under control.
