Picked up this Leuchtenberg 1523 Batzen from Dirk Löbbers. Need two more 16th century (1531, 1553) and I'll be complete 1499-present.
It's been cool watching you build this set over the years. So many nice coins I never knew were out there. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoying your progress. Rare to find a 16th cent. coin in this level of preservation. Nice detailed reverse.
Well, yes, but there will also be a push into the 15th century. The 1480s are a "prime decade," which is a phenomenon wherein there's a series of prime numbers {30n + 11, 30n + 13, 30n + 17, 30n + 19} for some integer n, giving a pattern like 1481, 1483, 1487, 1489 (n = 49 in this case). I have nice coins for 1481 and 1483 but need the other two along with 1493. The only other prime decade in my set is the 1870s (n = 62), which I have nicely covered by US coins (1871 2c, 1873 $2.50, 1877 Trade $, 1879-S Morgan).
