Here are a couple popular San Francisco numismatic medals. Very low mintages on these. Under a couple hundred IIRC. And here is the 'error' version they first minted, until someone figured out it wasn't the bicentennial of the mint, but just the centennial . Of course the bicentennial of the US was on everybody's mind back in the 1970's. Everyone should have figured out that from 1874 to 1974 was only 100 years. Z
Y'all should know by now that Zoid doesn't have a lot in the way of 'normal' coins. Here is the closest I can find that is in the spirit of this thread. A slightly damaged 1982 Washington commemorative half dollar minted by the San Francisco Mint. Mint mark is clearly visible to the right of Washington. Z
I went on the PCGS website to see the full sized true view of your coin and I noticed it was graded as MS-62. It totally looks like an MS-63 and I was wondering why it was under-graded, until I remembered which year and mintmark it is, 1881-S .
I grabbed this a couple years ago for $12 shipped because it has the scarcer combination of Obverse 1 over Reverse 3. It really worked for a living.
