New additions

After many months of not getting any ancients, I found a couple cheap ones I liked.

A decent Alexandrian FH


And a broken denarius of Commodus. The "wheel" under net doesn't look much like a wheel. I still don't know why some of my pics upload sideways ;-;

RIC 2, RSC 779-779b, BMC 810-812 Commodus Denarius. 179-180 AD. L AVREL COMMODVS AVG, laureate cuirassed bust right / TR P V IMP III COS II P P, Fortuna seated left with rudder & cornucopiae, wheel under seat.

Great detail on the reverse of the FH. Both are decent coins and ones I would have in my collection.

 

Nice additions, was that a FH you needed?

 

That is a fine example of the typical Alexandria nose.

I just picked up a Constantius II Fel Temp from Alexandria myself...but mine is the "two captives" type.




Constantius II, 340-361 AD

O: DN CONSTAN-TIVS PF AVG, R: FEL TEMP-REPARATIO, Emperor with two captives, ALEA in ex., Alexandria mint. RIC VII, 55. 21 mm, 4.2 g.

Nice example Chrsmat and its nice and definitely nice being off the wagon I have a similar but not as nice.

 

The Commodus was only $14.50 amd I have a soft spot for broken denarii ( well, sometime)

I only have 2 FH's in my collection... they fill the Emperor Portrait slots...
