Haven't posted my best $50 buy here yet although you guys have seen her before. The finest known toned thornhead VAM. Some new info though. I put a $2500 sticker on her at long beach and was offered $1500 which I turned down. Might have been a mistake but I'm still in love with her. Honestly, I'm not sure I would've even taken full price...
1859 Eulogistic Medal of Washington, minted by Joseph H. Merriam, Boston, Mass. Listed as Baker-88 in W.S. Baker's Medallic Portraits of George Washington with Historical and Critical notes (1885). Cost me a Jackson and a Lincoln.
I've been collecting modern silver lately, here's a few of the bicentennial pieces. The 25c - $12; the 50c - $14.50; the big dollar -- $27.00.
And another passion I've had lately is for Mexican pesos, from about 1945 on... Found this one for $41
Everybody likes @rim's cents more than me. Oh, wait, he's been here longer than I have. That must be it. Besides, his username breaks the tagging system, but @-jeffB doesn't. So nyah.
My previous post was Cascade's likes. Yours and mine are essentially identical. I have 2985 and you have 2957.
How else will you know how popular you are on the internet?? I feel a little bit guilty about this one, as the eBay seller did a horrible job of setting up his listing and I got a bit of a steal. Little bit of maybe graffiti, but not bad at all for $9.50.
Seller's pics: Whole set was $47.75 shipped, which works out to $15.92/ea. Either way, sub $50. I plan to image the set when it gets here.
