For your information The correct term would be Doubled Die not Double. Big difference. I want to share this webpage with you - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubled_die Quote- "Note that the proper terminology for this occurrence includes the letter 'd' at the end of the first word, hence "doubled die". The term "double die" without the first word ending in 'd' is not proper numismatic terminology" closed quote
Hey Pattyman, your totally correct in the right terminology but if you haven't figured it out by now a lot of people really do not care. About that stupid little D. Where it should be and where it shouldn't be. It reminds me of a friend of mine's little girls tea party. We sat down to have tea with his daughter, and I noticed his little girl went up to him and said daddy. You're not drinking the tea right. Dad your little finger has to be extended. While drinking tea. In short period people are gonna be who they are. And not everyone is going to do the same as everyone else. And Patty you say there's a big difference you're absolutely correct. But in reality double or doubled is the same to most people. And I'm glad we have such devoted members who like to always point that out.And as stated before there is a difference between a doodad and a whatchamacallit.Or a thingamajig. Some people will know what you're talking about and others will not have a clue.?
Pattyman. Little Saturday morning humor. There is a big difference in a left-handed monkeywrench and a right-handed monkeywrench. What's the difference.?
Out of a few dozen members who have used the wrong terminology, that I have corrected, about 4 or 5 actually understood and now use Doubled Die. That makes me happy!
That will work. But I was always told. It depended on which monkey you used. A right-handed monkey or a left-handed monkey. Is the only difference in a monkeywrench. And I'm still trying to find that skyhook.
