If referring to CapsAlbums, there are some omissions, like the Satins, so I plan on ordering custom pages.
Caps Album 2021 has 20 HOLES for the 2009's! I think it's the only Caps Album that has the Satins. But, the last page of the Memorial Cent album with proofs is perfect to be customized to add the 2005 to 2008 Satins in the correct order with the other 2005 to 2008 coins. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAPS-Album-...506359?hash=item1c70708437:g:mIkAAOSwBahVgJ0z
After only six years in Dansco pages, to me it's amazing how different the bronze 2009 P and D cents look compared to the Zincolns. Not the magnitude of the toning, but the color, the "chroma". BIG difference. The bronze ones are much farther toward the yellows than the copper plated zinc ones are.
There's a valid reason to include 2009 cents and no other satins, if they so chose. It's the only case where a totally different alloy was used for one vs. the other.
As for switching to another album system, man, I gotta think heavy on that one. I'm MANY hundreds of dollars invested in Dansco, with all of them in slipcases and everything. Yeah, I'm THAT guy. Quite a hit to switch over.
I haven't done a new album in some time although I have a few nearly completed folders on my table that I have pretty much neglected for the last several months. All are modern coins, so nothing fancy. I just can't bring myself to doing an album/folder with valuable coins where the coins are exposed to the elements.
Yep! I plan on switching slowly, starting with the ones I haven't bought albums for yet. First the AtB's, as they have the S-Mint business strikes, then the Sac/Native American Dols, as they have the enhanced uncs, then the Pres Dols, as they have the RP's, then the SAE's, as they have the 2011, 2012 & 2013 anniversary sets, then Kennedy Halves, as they have the 2014 anniversary issues, then.........
Well if you're going to go ahead and do it, maybe I'll just take your old Danscos off your hands instead.
LOL, after six months in a Littleton album, my bronze 2009's have heavy target rainbow toning - I'm about ready to put them in Air-Tites so they don't over tone. I'll miss that with the Caps Air-Tite albums, but I'll still have the older albums to tone some.
LOL, see my last post. I'll keep some, but thought about selling some at the shop. I'll let you know if I have any for sale/trade.
Wow, I don't have ANY doing multicolor stuff in Danscos. Pretty even toning. Are those zinc circs or satin bronze?
Yes, pretty toning...for now, but I wonder, if after only 6 months, how far the toning will go? Maybe that's why Littleton sells the special pages to stall/stop this?
I don't collect mint sets. I do have a 2009 set that I bought directly through the mint. I've kept it as it's the year that I started to get my interest back in coins. I would like to eventually get a Silver Proof set for 2007 and 2011 for the birth years of my kids, but those are proof sets and not mint sets.
Nope. I used to but then recognized the fact that this simply wasn't anything special, they took up space, and lost value. If folks want to collect 1 of each or 2 of each or whatever, they are certainly welcome to but for me, it's not gonna happen again.
