I think they are the wide AM version initials. But i could be wrong. When I look at the space between the boytom of the G... I start to question myself. I know that the close AM are further away from the memorial. Wyt?
OMG Show us the edge too, all 360 degrees! Come on guys. You don't need to see anything but the "AM" to tell if it is close or wide. I think you just want to post more with this particular member. The space the initials are from the steps varies. That is not where I would look to ID a wide/Close AM cent. The FG in your image is far away according to the three images.
Come on guy! Yes. You need to see the date to see if it is normal for the year or a variety. I really don't care who the "particular" member is. I don't even know why you would even state that. It always helps to post pictures of both sides of the coin, even the edge at times!
paddyman98, posted: "Come on guy! Yes. You need to see the date to see if it is normal for the year or a variety." Come on Paddy, put your reading glasses on. Her question is about the "AM." We don't need to know the date to answer her question. You know these cents come both ways. She posted just the initials. Maybe she is testing us. Flustered, Patty continued: "I really don't care who the "particular" member is. I don't even know why you would even state that." Although every other poster understood my joke, you needed to defend yourself? For what? I also joked about being a blond "hunk." Your post would have been funny if you called me out as a liar! It always helps to post pictures of both sides of the coin, even the edge at times! At Times. True, but NOT THIS TIME OR MOST OF THE TIME folks around here ask. Carry on.
Buddy.. I really don't care what you think or have to say to me.. Please Don't quote me again on any thread! Happy New Year!
Sorry buddy, you are one of my favorite posters. You'll just need to block me. Then, I'll only know you posted when someone quotes you. wait, I have an idea. You could ask everyone not to quote you and you'll be completely gone from my sight. I would be very sad not to see the what's-it-gona-be "coin-toss" replies.

My guess was close to the steps. Just testing my eyeballing on a coin that is in bad condition. Trying to learn when looking at a not so perfect coin. Would hate to dismiss something in the future because i didnt have a clue that the damage could make it hard to decipher. Just testing my eyes is all.
This thread of yours is from over 6 months ago.. and now you're responding? Strange And the majority of us do want full pictures of the Obverse and Reverse. It's really helpful especially to help learn about coins. No matter what a few silly members opinions are. Peace ✌️
She could have just got distracted and forgot. I got distracted and forgot once. I forget about what, but I did, I remember.
If you're just testing your eye, learn to see the other markers besides FG. To me the easiest is whether the A in States is centered or not. From http://lincolncentsonline.com/closeWide.html
