Well thanks! I appreciate it! I've gone through sooooo many nickels... have found 8 2009-Ps the last 3 months. In contrast, I've found 176 2009-Ds over that time.

The find patterns for the 2009 nickels are very intriguing... would love to somehow get some data from various regions of the country and make a chart...

Right now, I'm finding about 20-25 2009-D's per every 2009-P... going to total up all of my searching in a bit here... Last 3 months, it's 8 Ps, and 176 Ds...

Banks are closed today. No action for me. I have to dump 4 boxes this week too.

A Buffalo, a War Nickel, and an 09-P... Sounds like a successful "box." :)

Also in MA - although it seems I find Buffalos and Jefferson S-mints more often than 2009's, I have found several recently, including one or two D's. What I never seem to find are D-mint 2009 pennies.

Whoever wrote about grandparents' stashes go missing - my grandmother died in 1987, and one of her possessions was a small toy bank that belonged to her first born son, who died in infancy in 1931. She never let me search it when she was alive, but after she passed it disappeared. Not sure how or why, as it maybe had 50 cents worth of pennies in it and nobody in our family is that type of person. Man would I have loved to carefully extract the coins in there and go through them... probably some BU quality 1920s wheats, maybe a few Indian heads, possibly a key date or two.

Went through a box of cents (last week) and not counting some minor errors (and 4 wheats) I pretty much got skunked.... Opened up a box last night and sorted them to date with intentions of going through them carefully starting today but I'm pleasantly getting distracted... A friend brought me by an old nut can of cents he dug up out of an old desk drawer.
I've sorted them by dates and am going through them slowly, like savoring a fine wine... Hopefully I'll find something worth more than the old nut can they came in.

If have to count mine up but off the top of my head id say 09s and buffalos are probably about even. I haven't found an S mint in a good while though. I did get a couple hole fillers today (46D and 53D), nothing special but its always nice to keep plugging away on that folder

Box of halves: 1 90% Kennedy 64. It was an Ender so I had high hopes for the box. Nothing else in it.

I'm traveling this week, so all my Loomis boxes will be delayed until next Monday. But I'm just south of Atlanta this week so I stopped at a few local banks. First stop was a Suntrust, Teller had $30 in CWR...1-90, 3-40s, stopped at a few more on my way south, not much until my last stop before having to go to our conference, a BBT had $130 in Brinks MWR. Did not have much hope, but was pleasantly surprised, 3-90s.

It about all I'll find until next week, stuck in meetings in the middle of nowhere Georgia. Here are the pics

So my girlfriend is totally into hunting halves now. Which puts me in a predicament for myself. She has done 6 boxes herself and found nothing. She's determined to hit some soon. I am getting her a box and she has one ordered coming in tomorrow. We will each have two boxes to go through tomorrow night. I am trying to decide if we should split our finds or only keep what we individually get. Any thoughts? I'm giving her a 64 and 67 Kennedy to keep her going too.
