I agree Mike is NOT an idiot. Hooray Mike! As for idiots that will buy anything hell yes. Ebay depends on it. As for EVERY ebay buyer taking the time to educate themselves in even the faintest manner. I heard hell is supposed to freeze over in the next few days. This leads me to believe that ebay "frauds/scams" is one of the strongest points of Cointalk. We share this "garbage" with one another. We report it, we comment on it. It may seem futile at times but justing sitting back and watching it occur is even more futile. Just gotta keep plugging along if we are ever to accomplish anything on ebay.
In addition to it likely being a counterfeit, you should have known better than to bid a coin without a clearly stated return policy, and from a seller with such poor feedback. One suggestion: Next time, post BEFORE you bid on a coin. If you are not comfortable doing so, just PM me or someone you trust/respect. Going it alone in the coin game without advice from those more experienced than you is a sure way to get taken advantage of. Respectfully submitted...Mike [edited to correct my poor spelling]
points taken I respect you all and all of your expertise and hope that I actually add something to the mix here in this forum. Bottom line is that as I stated early in this thread, I tossed away $16. A loss I was more than willing to absorb. I got caught up in the excitement of the auction and lost my better judgement for a moment. I wanted to share the experience to help others so that they do not fall prey to this seller and other sellers like him. I have not even received the token yet, and we have indeed crucified this seller because most of us can tell from common sense and the description that these coins are not gold. If it is this obvious to everyone else, then it should have been obvious to me and I have indeed learned yet another eBay lesson. I want to thank clembo publicly for his kind words, and leadfoot for his generous offer. I am constantly trying to pick the brains of the knowledgeable. I will be certain to ask for something in the future leadfoot, so beware, I hope you mean it!
