2002 Silver Colored Penny

That's not true at all, the reason that something is polished before it is plated is to improve the finish. Just so you can compare, this is what a genuine uncoated cent looks like.

Notice how it has a very flat and dull appearance. Nothing about it looks chrome plated.

I too have a 2002 silver colored 0enny, with no proof or evidence of alteration, yet it stands in mostly clear, if not slightly too small, shape.
