I'm new to this forum...and i guess the only reason i joined was to get a response from you all about a possible error i recieved from the mint. I ordered 3 presidential dollar proof sets, and on one of the john adams dollars there are a bunch of tiny scratches that have slightly cut through the proof coating. The rim also has a bunch of tiny scratches on the left hand side. My question is what type of error is this (if it is even an error?) The other 3 coins in the set are perfectly fine, its just the obverse of the Adams dollar. Sorry I don't have any pics. Thanks for your help.

My washington prrof has this also. It is not damage, just a characteristic of the die that was used.

It is possible that it is a mint error, can you post some pictures?
