Here is an animation I made of the latest 1909 Lincoln Cent I acquired. It is a woody and has some really neat iridescent toning that can only be seen at the right angle. I made the animation so you can see how the color shifts in and out depending on the lighting source. These images are a combination of axial and traditional lighting techniques to show off the color and then surfaces and contrast of the improperly mixed alloy which has resulted in a few laminations to form on the reverse with one that has detached and folded over above the N CENT.

I find myself staring at it and just watching it. It's almost hypnotizing.. Not quite sure why, but it's fun and relaxing. :)

That is a fascinating animation, and great photography.

I just can't get excited about woodies, and yours is no exception. Sorry :( I just don't find them attractive.

You still have a couple of months to make Santa's "Nice" list Paddy.. :)

No worries Jason. Not everyone likes them. I find them oddly attractive. :)

Can you make animated wallpaper in Windows 7 or 8 without 3rd party software? A quick Google tells me "no"...

I would probably just stare at it all day long, though...

That is just trippy. Not only the woodie effect, but the gif, too. Cool.

The lamination is neat, too. Woodgrain copper is not my personal cuppa tea, but as with textile-toned Morgans, which are also not for me personally, I do have to admit they're cool looking and I can see why they have a following.
