Need your opinion on this Lincoln, which appears to my tired old eyes as a possible cracked die coin. It could be just a mark or a scratch but maybe you can help me to distinguish between a crack or a scratch. Thanks much, Dave
If you're referring to the mark just east of LIBERTY, it looks like a gouge (PMD) on the coin to me. I think I see some metal pushed up on the lower right edge. The dark mark that extends from his shoulder, diagonally, to his collar looks like a stain. Chris
I found a 55 D. With a deep gouge on one side. Sorta looks like bronze compared to my other 55 wish I could take a picture
