Someone else on here posted this one recently and I liked it so I got my own. It's a halfpenny token from Walthamstow, Sussex in the UK. 1813 walthamstow essex half penny1.jpg

Two new coins that came today. First is a 1796 Malta scudo. Second is a companion to one I recently posted, 1812 Walthamstow 1 penny token. 1796 malta scudo.jpg 1812 walthamstow 1 penny.jpg

A new date for me from a Numista swap. 2012 is the usual type set date for these, so something different is enjoyable.

Picked this one up at the Long Beach show last week. 1906 Congo Free State 20 Centimes (PCGS MS66). Not a common coin to begin with, only 100,000 minted, but what sets this one apart is that it is fully prooflike. If proofs were minted, no one would argue it were a proof.

I've found one other example that looked similar. Appears to be from the same die.

Not sure if this was specially minted as a presentation piece or just a really unusual business strike, but it is awesome.
