Pretty sure that might be one of the DDO's for the year,on top of it some damage would make it a bit harder to tell, but I do think you have one. DDO2 http://lincolncentresource.net/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/1936_ddo_date_1.jpg
Not quite sure off the top of my head, but you have a 20-50$ coin IMO. Might take a little more researching of previously sold type 2s to get you a exact price.
That's a cool doubled die, I cant tell quite what die state it is because of the wear. I have been Identifying a few variety's also this week Varietyvista .com has a good good library, with pics, die state, and pop. values.
I'm having a little trouble buying this one... No disrespect intended, but with all the "out there" stuff the OP has posted, it's a tad hard to believe he wouldn't see "something" in one of the more significant and obvious wheat DDOs. Regardless, it's a fine find. Congrats.
And that is certainly appreciated. What I meant is I think you knew more about the coin in question than you were letting on.
no worries. also to be honest i really didnt know if it was of value in its condition, and being that there where hit marks on the date. I knew it was a DDO, but didnt know what die type and if it held value. I didnt even know it was the 2nd die type for this year
thats why i titled it by sayin " still a pretty neat coin " and the head line saying " there's probably no value in this cent, but its still pretty cool ". Because as you said you guys already knew what it was, so i didnt want to state the obvious... long story short i was more on the value side other then the error side being that i have knowlege that you all know what it is.
No explanations necessary, my friend... my belief that you knew more than you were letting on to is actually a good thing and a compliment. You got a good one, and after all the trying and searching I assume you've done, it's well deserved. Finding one of these is, IMO, much more special than stumbling upon one of the more recent minor varieties (as an example), so again, a heartfelt congrats to you!
