They won't last at these prices?? https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Bluey&_sacat=11116&_sop=16
Crikey!! SHE (I think) is an Aussie Blue Heeler cartoon idol. You had to go through some ridiculous lottery to get the coins from the RAM--I think a set of three cost like $55 AU before shipping. I guess somebody is trying to cash in.
http://goccf.com/t/466257#4073623 "I'm amazed at the prices some people have paid for those coins on ebay. I wonder if those buyers have any realistic chance of making a profit in the future? I can't see why anyone would pay such a huge price for what really is just a colored token on a card. If it was something that formed a set with other coins already released or followed a particular theme then maybe there is some value in collecting them? What is the attraction? If RAM wanted to get the kids involved then perhaps a release such as the " Dollar Discovery" of 2019 would have been better? The colored Bluey coins in circulation would surely be just as attractive as the colored $2 coins?A set of "C" mint-marked cards for collectors could have been done as well to satisfy collectors and investors. Why does the RAM continually do this and cater to the ebay sellers instead of genuine collectors?" Good points--all!
If I may... Bluey is not just a cartoon. It's quite possibly the best family sitcom ever written. The storylines are from the imagination of Bluey, her sister Bingo, and their family and community... and it's taking the world by storm in 3 years. Mostly due to its family-oriented storyline, everyone can relate to this or should want/strive to. The Bluey "Dollarbucks" come from what Bluey call's them in the story. They are $1 legal tender in Australia with King Charles on the Obverse. It's one of the things Australia does just because it's cool. There is also mention of "Dollaroo's" in a couple of episodes...? They minted them for circulation with some colored, a colored proof, and a colored 1 oz. silver proof. And they're not cheap! Confession, I've watched it every morning with my Grandkids 4 & 6 for the last 2 years. Don't knock it till you've seen it. If you want to know how to be a good parent or grandparent, just watch this with the little ones, I guarantee you will both laugh and cry. In parting, just as every collector seeks out that which is "cool"... Well, to a growing many, including me, our collection's will be handed down to our grandkids, in which they will find some "Dollarbucks"... So, what will they be worth then if I finish out my job as Grampa correctly? It's hard to put a dollarbuck figure on that kind of cool!
