Hi everyone yes she is back again lol Now this penny is definitely something odd with Lincolns lips?? All input on this is greatly appreciated and I must say my pics came out pretty well if I say so myself. Lol I am getting better with pics but it tales foreverrrrrr. Joking aside let me know what you all think about this coin please. TIA
It has some extra thickness, Here are the different classes of Doubled dies. https://doubleddie.com/58222.html
Lotta wear…affecting the lips…kinda like a snarl or a sneer. AU50-53, seems the same on both sides. Have you checked it for varieties?…imo…Spark
I have started to on the error-ref.com & wexlers I believe it is and I googled it and I haven't found anything yet. I know from what I have been learning by reading the printing process over and over again and pics of varieties it doesn't appear to me to be pmd I could be wrong but I been really trying to learn all about this and searching for varieties to match with my coin, just found nothing yet.
Saying it in gentlemanly fashion, it’s “minting” not “printing”. Currency is printed with ink. Coins are “struck” at the Mint ( even though the machine that strikes them is called a “stamping press” or used to be ). Using the right terminology helps solidify thought processes and supports your credibility as a collector. In the future you will be helping others do the same. Trying hard not to be overly critical, but the two processes are entirely different. …imo…Spark BTW, I gave you a like because your pictures are excellent…
I would be more concerned about the Mowry warrior leading his troop of turtles on the reverse . . . . Z
The turtles on the back that would be caused by die deterioration correct?? I have been studying still not close to being 100% on anything yet bit getting there. So hopefully I am right
