The wife likes to go antiquing, so while she goes off scavenging I always ask the owner if he/she has any old coins. Most times it's 'no' but the last shop we were in the guy had about 50 Morgans in a piece of PVC pipe that he let me look through. Most were beat up, some were polished, but I did find this one. Nothing to rave about, but I thought it was a good honest circulated (lightly) specimen.......
Seems like I saw a show about people stockpiling for the end of civilization taking silver dimes and sealing them in PVC pipe and burying them in places around their property. Doomsday Preppers...that was the show.
With my luck, if I ever buried a pipe full of money, when I went to dig it up, I would only find a sewer geyser.
This is my only antique store find to date. It was just crusty enough to appeal to a collector of ancients...
It certainly makes me feel bad for you to get stuck with something like that. I can send you a stamped, addressed envelope if you really want to get rid of it.
