I was gonna sit back - but since it seems you really want to hear them I'll send them to you all winter!!
Every so often there have been lay-offs. I know of two services that bring people on part time as needed too. With all the turmoil to come next year, the TPGS should put everyone except a select few on a "contractor" contract. That would save tons of cash. Think about this. Just moving from a high tax state to a low tax state is a big bonus for all. PCGS needs to move out of CA!
I can only guess 10,500 coins per 3-5 graders - but have no knowledge of how long their shift consists of!!
Yeah! What if a mudslide buried their vault or it fell into an abyss after an earthquake. What do you think that would do to their turn-around times? Chris
Normal day, approx. eight hours. So far most think the total for all the services is very close to 10,000. It looks like I'm too optimistic at 18,000 - 20,000. Guess the actual total may be around 13,000.
A happy customer is a return customer. How would it affect business if a large volume dealer submitted a some monster boxes of ASE and didn't get a certain number of MS70 and 69 coins. I bet they would just go to the other grading service that would return enough. On the other hand, is the ebay fakes of trade dollars and morgan's and any other key type coins where you wouldn't want to buy without the slab.
@Insider - what say you about the coin I have graded 70 in a NGC slab that has the mark on the reverse that it ain't obviously a 70 - ? (1/10 gold eagle) - I was just gonna bite it but it does bother me - I sure as hell can't sell it as it will come back to me everytime!!
None of those numbers would surprise me much. Btw, what is this "turmoil" you referenced in a previous message?
If you are a good customer, call customer service and ask for a free review. Otherwise you'll need to write a nice note w/the submission. Make sure the mark is NOT MINT MADE.
