What says the gallery? The King of Morgans Went for $2400 and change this weekend. What grade does it get? P01. details?
Before anyone asks, no. I didn't even think about it. A coin this poor, no matter the rarity, I'm absolutely not interested. If I had inherited it, it would be the first one flipped for purchasing power for something else.
Most AG3 are missing evidence of the dentils. It is almost there, I suspect a G4 details grade on this one.
It’s a 1893-S Morgan. Probably a AG-3 and I would have bought it at that price. This is a hard to get coin in any condition and the price does nothing but go up.
With that much of the rims present, I can't imagine it going lower than AG03. I'm not up on the conversion rates/correction factors in grading key dates, though, so I wouldn't be completely surprised at a VG grade. Amused, but not surprised.
I have a bunch of lowball mercury dimes. I bought a complete album for $60 and some off the dimes are really thin. I'll have to dig those out and see whats considered lowball.
Seems unlikely. Looks like it's suffered some corrosion/damage, but most importantly, it doesn't seem to have a legible date. Without a date or an unmistakeable variety attribution (think 1916 SLQ), a lowball is just a cull.
I was wondering if it needed a date. I googled lowball and there was a Kennedy half in a PCGS holder without a date. Graded PO01
Its a tough one to get also, POO 1. I sent a few in to be graded hopefully POO 1 and they came back in a body bag no grade too far gone.. pee offed about it too. I got 4 or 5 more to be sent in maybe.
The "unmistakable variety attribution" there is that it's 90% silver, which means it's 1964, and that there is no D mint mark in the relevant location (which is sheltered/recessed enough that it would still show at this stage of wear).
