I just found this two headed penny...I've seen others ask about the same type of coin so I recognized it right away and I know it's post mint stamped. It was still neat to find one in a coin roll. Also, here's a pic of two other off color pennies I found in some of my "maybe," coins. I added a normal penny to show the color differences. The gold penny is obviously plated, because it's magnetic, the silver coin isn't magnetic, but I'm fairly sure it's the result of a science experiment. I'm too lazy to scan both sides, but you get the picture. Both off color coins are from the 90's.
I have one of these also, had it for years. I will have to find it to see if it is the same date & mint. Never thought there was more then one, now I ask how many are there floating around.
Yes, those Kennedy counterstamps (and others with state outlines and such) were popular novelties sold to the general public when I was a novice collector in the 1970s.
I have the metal stamp to stamp Lincoln- Kennedy cents. I stamp modern cents and put them in circulation.
